Baldrige Survey System

System Overview

Benefits

Our survey system makes any assessment more thorough and fact-based by providing additional information about employees perceptions and observations. It also helps the process by:

  • raising awareness of the assessment, and asking people relevant, thought-provoking questions
  • giving everyone the opportunity to participate, which is usually not possible (or cost-effective) with interviews alone
  • obtaining input from employees who are scattered geographically, without incurring travel time and costs
  • revealing at the outset what are the most important issues to investigate further during the assessment. This saves time and provides a sharper focus for subsequent interviews and workshop discussions.

All of this is achieved with a very modest investment of time and resources.

Features

Our survey system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the rest of the assessment process. It provides:

  • simple administration : a complete survey process with pre-defined questionnaires is ready to go
  • quick start-up: all that's required to begin the process is a list of employees' email addresses
  • instant analysis: immediately the survey is closed, a wide range of reports is available online
  • employee ease-of-use: the survey is instantly accessible to them without having to use passwords, the questionnaires are easy to complete, and there is no form to send off afterwards
  • employee anonymity: having the survey run by a third party reassures employees that their responses will remain anonymous, and helps achieve high response rates
  • security: only people invited to participate can enter the survey area, and the survey responses are held in a secure database
  • flexibility: the questionnaires can be customized if required and the standard reports have a wide range of options available.

Steps in the Survey Process

The process is designed for rapid start-up and easy administration.

  1. Preparation
Tthe client provides a list of employees' email addresses, and can choose to tailor the email invitation that employees will receive.
  2. Invitation
The survey system automatically sends every employee an email invitation to participate. This contains a personalized hyperlink that provides access to the online survey.
  3. Processing
Employees complete the survey at their convenience, and the client can monitor the response rate continuously. Reminder emails can be sent automatically to those who have not responded. The survey is usually kept open for about five business days.
  4. Reporting
As soon as the survey is closed, the client can obtain all the reports online, and can conduct various detailed analyses: for example to discover correlations in the ratiings by level, function or location.
  5. Analysis and Review
Selected reports are sent, usually in electronic form, to key players in the assessment, such as the assessment team or the participants in a workshop, with instructions on how to interpret the information.

All of this typically takes place during the 2-3 weeks preceding an assessment, so that the survey findings can be used during the assessment process.
